Products~ Christian Dior - Dior Addict Lip Glow SPF 10

More lip-balm talk. Christian Dior’s Dior Addict Lip Glow, a “Colour awakening lipbalm with SPF 10. Very scientific.

I think you can guess what’s so appealing about this lip balm and if you didn’t, this is it:

Dior Lip Glow does not only work as a lip balm but also responds to the colour chemistry of your lips to create your very own shade.

Isn’t that enticing that you can moisturise, protect your lips from the sun and obtain your very own natural lip colour? Bli-mey.

So hows the product? The consistency is a little thick, it’s something like 10% of the consistency of wax. However, it’s definitely not like those you get on a long flight journey, now those are really thick. I suppose it’s formulated like this to make it more suitable for cold-er weather but I like my lip balms a little thinner, personal preference really. So I apply it on my lips and immediately there’s this plumping effect. Lips are much full-er and there’s a huge increase in blood circulation(I believe) in the lips because they turned really red. After a few minutes or so, the colour of my lips soften to arrive at a light berry shade with a pinky glow. I don’t experience this every-time I use it though! It’s as if the lip balm is having on and off days, but what it consistently does is that it seems to promote blood circulation as I’ve said before to give you more full-er and darker lips, very natural and it’s almost like a lip-stain except you layer a shiny lipbalm on top. It gives a nice water-shine 3D effect so you can wear this alone without any colour on top.

One problem I have with this product though is that I don’t find it moisturising enough, sometimes I just get this vaseline sort of sensation on my lips, like it’s just sitting on top without any goodies being absorbed into the skin. It does still conditions the lips but I don’t think it’ll work very well with chapped lips. Another thing I encounter is that I get this sort of wrinkly-line sort of texture on on my lips as oppose to a smooth finish. Mind you, it’s not always a bad thing, look at Monica Belluci, she makes them look sexy. I guess a duo usage product isn’t always hitting expectations, you lose some you gain some I guess?

As you can see, Dior Lip Glow comes in a delicious pink bubble gum colour in the signature Dior Addict design. Quite stylish, so whipping it out in public would probably be fine. It’s a good product to reach for when all you want is just to spice up your lips with somthing not too heavy like gloss or lipstick as well as moisturising them. It’s lasting power? 1-2 hours, I’d consider it average really.

Dior Lip Glow retails for $28 US on the Sephora website.
